Apples

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, right? Packed with Vitamin A, C, and Fiber, are safe for dogs as long as you remove the seeds and the core before feeding them an apple to avoid choking. The seeds have cyanide and if it accumulates over time, can cause deleterious effects. This fruit is great in keeping your dog’s breath fresh. Apple slices also help remove any residue that trapped in your dog’s teeth.

Pasta

Any ingredients used to make pasta are safe for dogs, so you can feed spaghetti to a growing dog. However, it is best to stay away from commercially-made pasta sauce. These are usually acidic, has lots of salt and sugar and can cause an upset stomach. Also, like most foods, pasta should be fed to dogs in minimal amounts and occasional basis only.

Bananas

These are high in potassium, manganese, amino acids, Vitamin B6 and C, Biotin and fiber. Bananas can help your dog if it has gastrointestinal problems due to its high fiber content.  Magnesium, on the other hand, helps in vitamin absorption and helps produce protein. Keep in mind that bananas should be treats and only to be taken in moderation by dogs as they still have sugar in them.

Peanut butter

This is a great source of healthy fats, Niacin, Vitamin B, and C as well as protein. It is best to use raw and unsalted peanut butter if you plan on giving this to your dog. To let your dog enjoy peanut butter for hours, you can stuff this into a chew toy. Take note! Never use peanut butter that has sugar-free or “lite” on the labels as these usually have artificial sweeteners like xylitol which are toxic to dogs.
