As for the poor dog, the Yorkshire pup was sent to Rutherford County PAWS, an animal rescue center where it will hopefully find a forever home.

If it weren’t for the bravery of Robert, who knows what could have happened to the poor pup? However, it is devastating to think that one precious life was lost just because he did the right thing.

This is one proof that there are some irresponsible owners out there who don’t deserve a pet, but at least I’d like to believe that there are more people like Wilson who’s willing to take a stand-in doing what he thinks is right. Although the man who shot the animal lover turned himself up, that doesn’t change the fact that he hurt a poor animal and killed an innocent life, be it intentional or not.

We should raise awareness on how to become good and responsible owners. If you can’t stand a dog or any animal for that matter, please just don’t own one. There are far better people out there willing to give these dogs a better home. Justice should prevail and animal abuse should stop. Let us not turn a blind eye and do what we can to try and stop such horrific acts.
