Would you believe if this guy made his dead cat into a working drone? Read the story here!
After 6 months in the freezer, someone finally agreed on Jensen’s idea. A drone engineer built the drone, did the electronics and stuff while Jensen made a puppet out of his cat’s body. They placed one propeller made of plastic in each of Orville’s paws – an untraditional way which is also a morbid way to mourn a loss of your pet.
He unveiled his so-called “masterpiece” and called it the “Orvillecopter”.
A video shows the taxidermied Orville flying like a real drone. Even after global outrage sparked after he posted showed the world of his cat drone, he went on to work on other dead animal drones such as rats, and ostrich.
He now plans to create a “mandrone”, although he specified no real human will be used. An animal that can fit a human inside is his target, and he’s currently looking at the possibility of using a decently sized cow that can fit a man inside. He really went to stand for the name given to him by the outraged public – the “Mancopter.”
Jensen stated on his website that his purpose for doing the taxidermy/drone project is to pay tribute to his cat’s life by giving Orville a new purpose in life.
I still have no words for this story. One, what I believe and what most people believe is that when someone dies, they are meant to rest in peace, not be repurposed for anyone’s entertainment. If you really love someone and that someone already died, it is okay to hold on to the memories, but not the body. I don’t even know if it’s illegal or not to keep dead bodies as they can spread diseases of some sort.
Like Orville, many cats, dogs, other pets, and animals are being used as a form of entertainment. I have nothing against that as long as the animals are happy and safe, and as long as they are willing and are taken care of properly. But for Orville’s case, I can only say I feel sad for Orville, as he is not where he should be – resting at peace.
How do you feel about this story?
