When I came across an article from The Dodo, I instantly knew that the story was about a bonded pair dogs. The story was about two dogs who were not from the same breed and have polar personalities but instantly clicked, forming a strong connection that is now hard to break.

The two dogs are a 7-year-old American Staffordshire terrier named Sunny and an eight-year-old Chihuahua named Georgia. Their paths crossed when they met on a shelter. Georgia is more reserved and cautious of other dogs, while Sunny fits her name perfectly. She is active, bubbly and always excited to meet everyone. The moment they met, they just instantly loved each other despite their differences, and have never wanted to be away from each other ever since. Every time they were apart, both will feel upset and everyone in the shelter can see it.

One time, the staffs separated the two by letting them play in a separate yard. Because of this, Sunny started getting anxious, and it was only when she saw her sister Georgia on the other side of the fence did she started to look alive. The same goes with Georgia who did not warm up in the yard not until she saw Sunny. The AHS (Arizona Humane Societies) staff saw this and knew the two were meant to be together.

Because of the strong bond between the two dogs, the staffs agreed both needed to be adopted together into a forever home. They knew that bonded pair dogs were meant to live together or both it won’t be good for their health and happiness. However, waiting for someone to step into the shelter to adopt a dog is already difficult, let alone having t adopt two at a time. A media relations specialist with AHS named Kelley Dickerson told the Dodo that both dogs needed a special home that would be able to love and take both dogs in. The two sisters have been in the shelter for 130 days, and finally found a forever home!
