To say I was shocked, would be an inaccurate description of how I felt about this story. Dog-lover or not, no one would want to buy a dog from a store who is not treating the animals well. I feel so sorry for the dogs whose lives are put to waste because they were kept locked up in cages just to breed. That’s not what animals are for, and is simply a waste of life.
The poor dogs who came from mills do not get proper care even if they get sold to pet stores. As they are already sick, I’m sure such pet shops won’t even bother curing these dogs till they get better, as their only concern is to make money. Otherwise, why would they sell animals who are obviously sick? They will even issue a health certificate stating the dog is in good health when it is, in fact, unhealthy?

It’s just depressing to learn of stories where man’s best friend are not well-taken care of. The ones who were supposed to make a way to provide these dogs a home are not taking good care of them. Petland is just part of the problem, as most pet stores get their supply of dogs in puppy mills.
Stricter laws in dog mills, as well as pet shops, need to be implemented to make sure no more poor dogs will get to experience such a horrible faith.
I hope the day when no more dogs are suffering in dog mills and pet shops will come the soonest time possible. We will never the accurate number of how many dogs are there, but what is important is proper intervention and rules are applied to pet shops and mills.
