They were able to find the injured dog, so they set off to work. Loreta sat a few feet away from the dog and coaxed him to come closer so she can feed him. Upon smelling the food, she stood up slowly and made his way closer to the female rescuer. The poor dog was limping her way towards Loreta. The coyote trap crushed her foot, and the heaviness of it made it even harder for her to move freely.

Loreta started throwing bits of food on the ground until Hermione, the name given to the female dog slowly inched her way to eat. The rescuer kept talking to her, assuring her she is safe while feeding the dog. She eventually let her rescuer’s hand feed her.

The dog was in great pain and had to keep on licker her injured foot to help soothe her pain. Sadly, such traps are still legal in many states, no matter how cruel they may be. The rescuers spent two hours trying to gain the injured dog’s trust, but she kept walking away. She was suddenly frightened and retreated back into the woods where she hid behind a tree.

The good thing is they have their soccer nets shipped on the first day after realizing they’ll be needing it. A bunch of volunteers helped set up the net around the parameter where she currently is. They set to work, but the dog ran and ran finding a way out. She hid under a bush, but her rescuers won’t stop chasing her.

It was an intense race. She could really run away very fast even if she’s injured. Finally, Eldad caught her with a gentle snare.she calmed down after a few moments, and Loreta was able to finally touch her. After placing the third snare around her neck, they let her relax for a bit. The dog was scared at first, but eventually calmed down.

After a year of no human contact, Hermione is now safe and rescued. Two men lifted her up while two rescuers held the snare in place. They were finally able to load her up in the vehicle. After thanking the volunteers, they went straight to the hospital.

Upon arriving, the vets sedated her so they can finally free Hermione from the coyote trap. She seems to understand she is now in safe hands and kept calm all throughout. After six days of pain, the rusty old barbaric tool was no longer imprisoning her paws!
