Dog Abandoned For A Year In A Forest Stepped Into A Coyote Trap. Will anyone Come and Save Her?
The vets examined her, but too much damage was already caused, and some of her tissues have already started to necrotize. They also found out Hermione have heartworms which needed to be treated. The rescue team and Hermione stayed one more day to make sure is stabilized and ready to travel.
Hermione dropped by say thank you to Manuela Schafer – the good Samaritan to called Hope For Paws for help. They went on their way back to California by car. They make sure to stop every once in a while to have Hermione checked and change her bandages. She lost a couple of bones because of her rotting paw, but the rescuers made she is pain-free and comfortable.
After three days of traveling by car, they went to Dr. Robert Olds and he constructed two surgeries to save her leg. For several months, Hermione recovered beautifully – her leg was as good as new and the heartworms are no more!
She even fostered a few orphan kittens while trying to recover! She is now waiting for a new owner to take her to a forever home.
Rescue stories are getting even better than before. Imagine having to fly just save a dog from another state, and to drive all the way back home for three days. These people are amazing. My only wish for this coming Christmas is simple – may all the Good Samaritans, rescuers and animal rescue groups and their supporters be blessed forever and that no animal will be abandoned, abused and neglected. Is it too much to ask?
