Dog Was Thrown Out Of A Pickup Truck Like A Trash, Now She Can’t Contain Her Gratitude
Callie had a severe case of mange and she was too slender to be healthy.
The rescuers called Heidi Schermerhorn-Wagner, founder of Boxer Butts & Other Mutts. Heidi found Callie’s body heavily wounded. She also had serious skin infections. If her body was broken, so was her spirit. Callie did not behave like a normal puppy. She was aware of her frailties and she knew that there wasn’t anyone looking out for her or wanting to care for her.

That changed in the next few days as Callie spent some time at the shelter and it was eventually in the arms of Schermerhorn-Wagner that she found comfort. Callie is still undergoing treatment and she is being looked after with proactive care. Heidi is a hands-on caregiver. She has been treating Callie, looking after all her needs and has also been encouraging Callie to become the pup she is supposed to be. Callie has started walking and she has also taken a particular liking to running around. She loves toys. Her coat is grown back and she will have new fur in some time. In a few months, if not weeks, she will be ready for adoption.
