When you’re playing or relaxing with your dog, and you look into their eyes, you release a hormone known as oxytocin. This is the same hormone that is released when moms bond with their babies. That’s right, the fact that our dogs love us is not just something dog lovers believe. This stuff is backed up with some considerably impressive science.
And it just gets better and better from there. When someone yawns, it can cause us to yawn, too. This a form of empathy, and it can be shared amongst dogs and humans, as well. That was one I didn’t know for myself. I couldn’t believe it. I also didn’t realize that when our dogs cuddle with us after a big meal, this is a sure sign that they absolutely love us. Why?
