“I Found A Dog Chained Up In My Basement” – A Bizarre Dog Rescue But Heartwarming Nonetheless
First of all, who buys a house without checking every part and room of it? Every buyer of a home will want to know everything there is inside the house he or she is planning to buy – even the basement. I know I will. I’ve lived in many houses and apartments for the past years, and every single time I will check on every space, every room and every corner of the place.
Second, if you buy a house, you’ll buy it from an estate broker most of the time. What broker would sell a house not knowing a dog is tied up in the basement? I may have no knowledge when it comes to real estates, but I do know for sure before you sell something, you check everything there is on the thing or place you’re trying to sell. It’s not like the basement was a secret room that the new owner just recently discovered.
Third, the dog seemed to be healthy, not starved and dehydrated besides the fact that he was tied up on a short chain, living in the dark, was surrounded by old stuff and miscellany, and lots of his urine and feces everywhere. It only means the dog was kept in the basement not that long to make him sick, emaciated and weakened.
Fourth, I can only think of three explanations as to why the dog was found in the dark and dirty basement in the first place. One could be that the new owner of the house was the real owner of the dog, and just want to possibly get rid of her. Second, was the new owner failed to properly check the property, the old owner left the dog in the basement after chaining her and was the real owner of Jumping Bean. Third, someone else has access to the home which explains how the Pit Bull ended up in the basement.
