Mcdougal – A Senior Shelter Dog Rescued Just In The Nick Of Time
The video showed Dr. matt working on Mcdougal after putting him under anesthesia. There he found out great news. The massive mass was actually hernia, not a tumor. This is good news because a Hernia is easier to manage than a massive tumor. So he went to work to fix the Hernia and removed Mcdougal’s other big tumors. He leaves the smaller ones and the one in his scrotum in the meantime to let Mcdougal heal.
Tha dog recovered well and was his same old sweet and active self, and Dr. Matt was very happy with the results. After a few days, he went to work on the remaining bumps and the tumor on this scrotum. He actually needed to remove the scrotum while neutering the dog – a procedure used to sterilize dogs. The scrotum is not usually removed when a male is neutered, but in Mcdougal’s case, it was necessary since he has tumors in them.
Again, the surgery was a huge success, and Mcdougal recovered perfectly. He may have a slight bump in his groin, but Dr. Matt was not really concerned since it did not grow in size during the past few weeks. Dr. Matts will just have to let his future owners know to check on it if it grows or what not to see if another surgery is needed.
Mcdougal’s heartworm was also managed and removed, and Mcdougal was able to heal perfectly. He is now ready to be adopted by a loving family.
I came to know Vet Ranch, an organization that provides medical care and treatment to stray animals, started by Dr. Matt Carriker after watching tons of their videos. In 2014, he received a call after office hours asking him to euthanize a poor homeless dog that was unfortunately hit by a car. He came to pick up the poor dying pup and took it to his clinic. Dr. Matt saw something that made him change his mind. He saw a glimmer of hope, a strong will to live in the dying pup’s eyes, so he decided not to put her to sleep, but rather try to nurse her back to health. He started filming the process and that’s when it all started.
