| One of the rescuers was able to catch him with a snare. He was found in the muzzle. The poor injured dog was frightened but was not that aggressive at all. They were able to put another snare around his neck properly, and after some time the dog warmed up to them.
By this time, neighbors and onlookers have gathered to watch the scene unfold. One even called in the L.A. Fire Department to ask for help. When the team of firefighters came, they helped lower a cage to make it easier for the rescuers to lift them up to safety.
After assuring the mastiff he is in great hands, they started preparing him for the lift. It was then that they realized they were rescuing a female dog.
Since the cage was a not a great size for a mastiff, they had to make her go into the cage as gently as they could. After some time, they were able to put her into the cage, have the firefighters lift him up to safety.
The two rescuers thanks everybody and the firefighters for their help and support. They even met Megan Barre who called the rescue group in the first place. They went back to the hospital to patch her up.
What they first did was look for a microchip, and luckily, she does have one! It says her name was Tinkerbell, and she came all the way from Arizona! They fixed her up and called her family. It was then that they found out how she ended up in the river.
