Dachshunds have an average lifespan of 12-15 years old. Of course, like any other dogs, their lifespan can be affected by a number of factors. A Dachshund named Chanel outlived their normal lifespan, and live up to a staggering 21 years old.

Dachshunds were also used as an Olympic Mascot in 1972 at Munich thanks to their tenacity, power resistance, and agility.
Did you know that the first dog ever cloned in United Kingdom was a Dachshund? The owner, Rebecca Smith had her 12-year-old Dachshund named Winnie cloned. Can you guess the name of the new pup? It was Minnie Winnie.
