Dogs are amazing creatures. They are man’s best friend, are loyal to death and very dependable. They love their owners so much, to the point their lives revolve around their family alone. They are kind, mischievous and downright adorable. One of the funny things about dogs is that they are like little kids – naughty and nice.

They’ll drool just to have a taste of what its like to roll in the mud, to cover their coats with the icky and sometimes smelly pool of water. But, have you ever wondered why?
Why do dogs like mud so much? Is it because it is wet, cold and dirty? Do they like dirty things? There are many reasons why, and we are here to shed some light on this mystery.

Experts say ancient dogs make use of this behavior in order to cover themselves from their enemies. Many say it can be an indicator that your dogs could be coating themselves with mud to get cover up their scent from other dogs or animals.
Others say canines usually do this to dry themselves. This theory is supported by how much dogs love to roll in the dirt or mud after every bath. They will try to rub themselves on almost anything even after patting them dry.
