You Wouldn’t Believe How Beautiful This Year’s World’s Ugliest Dog Is!

| Her family claims her personality is what truly captured the hearts of the judges. Although she has the looks plus the pink nail polish, it was her uncanny yet funny personality that shined that day. She was sneezing and drooling all over the table while eating slim jim.
Zsa Zsa’s story is also worth mentioning. Before gracing the stage and the world with her inexplicably unique features, she spent years in a puppy located in Missouri. It wasn’t until an auction was held that a rescue group found and brought her to safety. It was because of the rescue group that Zsa Zsa found a forever home when she was adopted by her mom, Megan Brainard.
Megan claims Zsa is so ugly, she’s beautiful. Contrasting as it may seem, it’s only fitting that she named Zsa Zsa from a glamorous Hungarian actress. Zsa Zsa and her family drove a total of 30 hours just to enter the contest, and all their efforts obviously paid off. She beat all other competitors and earned the 2018 title for the World’s Ugliest Dog. She got a hot pink trophy, the title and a $1,500 prize.
It’s nice to think that such contests exist not to humiliate or make fun of dogs with imperfections, but to celebrate, honour and make their presence known. Why? Because it is true.
It is true that dogs who look different than what they are supposed to look like are often abused, taken for granted and left to die in the streets or in shelters.
It’s true that people would judge based solely on appearances, be it dogs or humans. Most are hated, ignored or hurt just because they look like a certain way.
Being given a second chance is a great thing, but not everyone, not all dog s are given a second chance. Rescue dogs deserve to be loved and feel loved as much as any other dogs do. They offer the same unconditional love, if not more, and their imperfections only make them more perfect. Flaws are flaws, but the fact remains. There is a reason dogs are labeled man’s best friend, but there is no saying that it only has to be dogs who are perfect and with no flaws deserves to be loved.
