Undercover Investigators Uncovered Lies And Deception Pets Stores Deploy To Sell Puppies
• Pet stores like about where they have sourced their puppies from. Every citizen of the country has the right to adopt any puppy of any breed of any age and from anywhere as long as there is nothing illegal in the process. But every dog lover wants to do it the right way. A part of achieving that depends on knowing where the dog was born, to whom and how he or she was raised till now. It is acceptable to adopt a dog who was found missing or was abused by the previous owner but you should know. Pet stores deliberately lie about where they breed their puppies. Some say that they use local breeders, which is a lie. Some say they ensure the puppies are raised with care. That is again untrue as many pet stores deal directly with breeders who have violated various animal welfare laws.
• Pet stores show certificates of health and origin that are at times fake. In a surprising scenario at one pet store in Virginia it was found that a puppy cleared for sale was checked by a vet a day before the sale and was diagnosed with many health ailments. Among them, respiratory illness was particularly noticeable. Yet, the puppy was cleared for sale. It is not known if the vet was aware of such developments or if it was solely the pet store owner doing it. Either way, lies are being peddled as sales tactics to sell puppies.
